Good day...

Today was such a quiet, nice day.  Kauri is so sweet, and when we try to help her too much, she reminds us she can do it.  Her PICC line (TPN and Lipids) are just in a back pack.  They don't have to be hung on a rack like at the hospital.  So one or so of us is always there to help her carry the back pack, but she says she can do it.
Kauri wanted to go for a ride today, just to get out.  We just drove around, went to the cemetery, and she got to see Gabe's grave.  It' was so peaceful there.  She was solemn but was glad to see it.  Then we drove around, a bit more.  Then she was ready to rest.
So dinner time came, and the pumps beeped, and we started getting ready to change her "nourishment".
So her mom and dad were getting ready to do it.  This is Kauri's blog, so think maybe what might be going through Kauri's mind when you look at these pictures...
 The smile could be scary...
 Can't decide about this face...
 Hum....
Does she know what she's doing?
Is she praying?
Kauri did say, "I'm not sure I like this..."  She really is a trooper!

Yes, Annika has something on her face... cornstarch.   They were trying to make goop, like they learned at PC Hospital, with Tanner, Kylie and Tyeson, but we had the wrong recipe, and it made a mess.

Kauri sporting her new back pack with tubes that give her all she needs to keep being healthy. She is so cute about us being able to eat, and when she can't. When we apologized for eating in front of her she said, "Don't be sorry I'm eating in front of you all day!" Just think, she can't go into any store that says no food or drink :)  We liked to tease her right back about that.

  1. Laura needs to wear some scrubs - other than that, she looks like a professional nurse. (and Jeff makes a great CNA)
