Cast on, cast off...

Back to the Dr. again.  We're getting good at these visits.  Thank goodness for phones and gadgets that we can get facebook, and play games on, while we're waiting, besides the good long talks.  (Those good talks mostly happen while we're driving.)  We went to TOSH in Murray.  The Dr. said surgery was the very best thing for her.  He said this break was one of the very worst to have.  It's her scaphoid bone in her wrist, and there is such a low blood supply to it.  It's just a tricky bone to deal with.  And for athletes, it's a pretty important bone.  If not handled good arthritis and such will happen, so he told us of the surgery and how it would go.  So she will have surgery on Monday.  They cut the cast off, then just wrapped it until Monday.
Cast on...

Sawing the cast off

This lady's hair was awesome.

Cast almost off...

She's still eating with the PICC line, and being very patient with the food.  I watch her with her gratitude for her sense of smell.  She does love to smell some of the foods she sees around.

This is all the treats that all the kind people brought her (all before they knew she couldn't eat).  But not to worry, she's enjoying looking at them, looking forward to them, and torturing her family with waiting to have some until she can eat some with them.
When Kauri ended up fasting on Sunday, because the batteries fell out of her pump, we didn't throw away her TPN, Lacie, Kauri's sister-in-law, said it was so good for plants, it's all vitamins and healthy stuff, so Kauri shared her dinner with the plants.  We'll look forward to seeing how well they grow, especially since Kauri has lost lots of weight.... hum.......
